Paolo Sanza

Paolo Sanza is a registered architect in the State of Arizona and has recently joined the architecture faculty at The University of Oklahoma after spending two decades at Oklahoma State University. His primary areas of teaching and research encompass design studio pedagogy, tectonics of architecture, and Italian modernism, for which he is the author of numerous publications. During his tenure at the OSU School of Architecture, his directed design studios, including design-build and community engagement, have been characterized by novel processes, and his students have received several national awards. Professor Sanza’s keen interest in exhibition design has led him to design and curate exhibitions at several venues, including the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, the Oklahoma State University Museum of Art, the OSU School of Architecture Gallery, Modella Gallery, and the Biblioteca Comunale Domenico Besso Marcheis in Rivarolo C.se, Italy. Before joining academia, he began his career in architecture with the office of Renzo Piano in Genoa, Italy, and has served as the design director of the award-winning Phoenix-based multimedia studio digital extension. Professor Sanza holds a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Design from Arizona State University.
